Here you will find information about one of the oldest mixed voice Choral Societies in the country and possibly the most western! Cornwall is an area with a rich history of choirs and singing and we are proud to be a part of that. This site contains details of our past, present and future with our 150th anniversary now behind us.

Penzance Choral Society is a mixed choir of over 80 voices. We perform two main concerts a year, one in May and one in December, and also sing in local churches at special events. Our repertoire is wide ranging, with recent concerts including works by: Bach, Handel, Haydn, Puccini, Mozart, Elgar, Verdi and Vaughn Williams. Our principal concert venue is St Mary's Church, Penzance and our rehearsals take place at Humphry Davy School, Coombe Road, Penzance.

Rehearsals take place on Friday nights at 7.00pm at Humphry Davy School, Coombe Road, Penzance TR18 2JG and our new season commenced on Friday 5th January 2018. Our next concert is on Friday, 18th May 2018 and we will be performing Stabat Matar by Antonin Dvořák. After May we will re-commence rehearsals in June 2018 for our concert of The Armed Man by Karl Jenkins on 9th November 2018. We look forward to welcoming back existing members and new and returning members who are looking to sing within a people friendly choir. All you need is enthusiasm, an enjoyment of singing, and a pencil! We will provide the music and the tuition.

We are a non-audition choir and if you are interested in joining us, you are invited to attend three rehearsals to find out if we suit each other. Our membership subscription is currently £50 per annum; membership for singers in full time education is completely free.
