ABOUT US

A choir for everyone who loves to sing

Penzance Choral Society is one of the oldest mixed-voice choirs in the country, and quite possibly the most westerly. We've been singing in west Cornwall for well over a century, and we're still welcoming new voices every season.

Who we are

We're a mixed choir of around 60 voices: sopranos, altos, tenors and basses from all walks of life. Some of us have sung for decades; others joined having not sung since school.

We rehearse every Friday evening and perform two major concerts a year, in December and May, along with carol services and community events around Penzance.

What we believe

Singing is for everyone

No auditions. If you enjoy singing, there's a place for you.

Great music, done well

From Handel and Haydn to Rutter and Britten, we tackle the great choral works with a professional conductor and soloists.

Part of the community

We sing in Penzance's churches and venues and love seeing familiar faces in the audience.
